University of Cologne (UoC)

The University of Cologne (UoC) is one of the oldest and largest within Europe and is recognized for its high standards of graduate education and international reputation of academic accomplishment.

Its Welcome Center 'Albert's International Assistance' was awarded the 'Vielfalt Gewinnt' prize in 2012. Currently, more than 45.000 students are enrolled at UoC.

UoC has a vast experience of successfully running research and training programmes and stands for outstanding collaboration and outreach. UoC currently manages various national, international, and EU funded research and training programmes under the Seventh Framework Programme and Horizon 2020. Among the current EU training programmes, UoC coordinates three Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships and is involved in 6 further Erasmus+ Activities. A vast number of local, regional and international graduate schools are conducted by UoC, of which two of the latter have been awarded funding by the Excellence Initiative of the German Science Foundation (DFG).

The Department of Special Education (DSE) is part of the faculty of human sciences. The focus of the department is to conduct
a) high-quality pre-service special education teacher training and
b) high-quality international research project with a focus on students with special educational needs (e.g., learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders). In the last decade, many research projects have been focused on inclusive education of students with disabilities.

Therefore, the DSE have great experience in successfully examine relevant research questions in social inclusion for students with special educational need. The DSE cooperates with many schools in the immediate surrounding of the University of Cologne and with several international partners worldwide.

ETIC_Algarve

At ETIC_Algarve we promote the hungry spirit in constant restlessness, because we believe this to be the only way of feeding creativity.

In this school we look for the constant challenge of innovation and for that purpose we count with a committed team, in a relaxed environment, but not less demanding to minister training of excellency in the fields of Design, Photography, Sound & Music, Video, Videogames, Web & Communication.

Located in the heart of the city of Faro, ETIC_Algarve is one of the creative lungs in the region, in a space where creativity is lived and breathed, but also the discipline and working ability, in a multipurpose and multifaceted space, in which we strive for an environment that promotes the freedom to create.

Since 2010 there are over 2000 students that have benefited from the alliance between a team of trainers, that are distinguished for being experienced professionals in the work market, and a diversity of last generation equipments. Such alliance has allowed our students to develop their future by integrating them in real projects through a permanent contact with several partnerships, protocols or projects which provided them experience in the work market.

The constant search for innovation and for improving the conditions given to our students has took ETIC_Algarve to give a larger stride in Europe, be it through Erasmus+ Internships, with a 3 month duration in several European cities, or through the establishment of pedagogical protocols that allow students to obtain Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework, through the progression of their studies in European Higher Schools.

Associazione N.E.T. is a not for profit association founded in 2001 by experts of the training and educational sector. N.E.T. addresses above all disadvantaged people.

Our mission is to improve the competitiveness and innovation of European society. To do this, we focus on two core business activities:

Education and training
We implement actions at local and European level to improve the education and training offer at all levels. We realize studies and research on education and innovation in education methodologies.. NET has a constant exchange with political representatives at regional and national level, aiming at mainstreaming the successful results of the EU funded projects and to encourage their transfer and adoption.

European Projects
Our dedicated team works daily to ensure access to the best funding opportunities to support our projects and those of our customers. Our experts offer consulting and training services in the areas of project design, project cycle management, evaluation and quality assurance.

The association is very active at local and regional level by collaborating with public organisations and institutions like Regions, Municipalities, Local Health Units (ULSS), Universities, education regulatory bodies, and entrepreneurs association.

Our years-long experience is the result of a successful collaboration with experts of different fields and sectors. The network of specialists we have been creating so far is one of the strong points we can count on in order to promote innovative activities and cooperation with partners all over Europe.

Associazione N.E.T. belongs to 2 important networks:
1. MAG (Mutual Organisation for self-management) supports associations, cooperatives and organisations belonging to the third sector, at national level.
2. I CARE NETWORK – it is a network of organisations aiming at protecting environment, human beings and animals against
any type of crime.

École de la Deuxième Chance (E2C)

The secondary chance school was created in January 2017 in Herouville Saint Clair - Normandy. The objective of this school is to fight against school dropout and support young people, without diploma and qualification, from 16 to 25 years old, in an educational course of acquisition and skills, allowing a social, citizen and sustainable professional integration.

In 2019, the school has welcomed 150 students coming from the county. Each trainee benefit of an individualized training plan in order to get a job. The concept is based on building a professional project, train to basic skills and benefit from socio-educational workshops. The training lasts about 6 to 9 months. Students have the status of trainees in vocational training.

The objective for the trainee at the end of the course is to access:
- Specific work contract like apprenticeship or professionalization;
- Qualifying or diploma training;
- Direct professional integration.

When leaving the school, a certificate of skills is given to the trainee, as well as his "book pro" (portfolio of skills).

The school is organized around three poles :
The company pole: business partnerships, organization of work-study programs, construction of the professional project (partnership with companies, and training organizations).
The Social Pole: recruitment of trainees, support of trainees to find solutions for social issues (mobility, health, …) (partnerships with associations and institutions).
The Pedagogical Pole: Specific training on basic skills and soft skills, culture and citizenship, professional project.

The E2C belongs to a national network of schools.

The work done on this SESAME project will be then given to other schools in France.

With Sesame Project, we will also work with many organizations and schools around us in order to adapt the way they work with students and get trained to positive pedagogical issues.

The University of Wuppertal was founded in
1972 as a comprehensive university. Today it presents itself as a modern university with an attractive range of subjects and an interesting research spectrum.

The university's education focuses on teacher training courses, economics, a wide range of engineering and natural science courses, and the humanities as well as art and design have traditionally been strongly represented. The University of Wuppertal is currently involved in several Erasmus+ actions.

The Institute for Educational Research is part of the School of Education, which was founded in 2010. The School of Education functions as the Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research of the University of Wuppertal.

The research fields of the Institute for Human Development are very diverse and cover all aspects of education:
- teaching (interaction);
- school (organization);
- and society (system).

Against this background, the IfB has set corresponding research priorities. These focus on the one hand on teacher professionalism
and on the other hand on social inequalities in educational participation.
